Nothing But Blue Skies Coming Our Way

'Benmore Blue' sky greeted us on Wednesday morning and all were out and about in the sunshine in various scenic locations. Breakfast is at 8.30am - yesterday was bacon and eggs and today was sausage and beans, as well as cereal, porridge, toast, fruit, orange juice and yoghurt. All are eating well and enjoying the plentiful food. Homemade soup, filled rolls, salad, fruit and biscuits at lunchtime keep energy levels tip top. Dormitory inspection is at 9.15am after chores and today many of the dorms scored 10 out of 10 - the girls are in the lead but the boys are also scoring high. Abi has THE neatest under bed basket of folded clothes we have ever seen! Instructors meet with groups at 9.30 then it's off into the great outdoors with lunch a movable feast between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Afternoon activities take us out again until between 4.30pm and 5pm. Once equipment is returned it's tea and cake at 5pm with time for a shower or free time until dinner at 6.15pm. Tuesday night was pasta and bolognaise sauce or vegetable pasta or baked potato then cheesecake. Wednesday was turkey with roast potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn and salad or salmon or baked potato followed by toffee cake or melon. Apples, bananas and oranges are always available and we're making sure everyone drinks lots of water. Groups 1-3 eat in the smaller dining hall with groups 4-9 eating in the larger dining hall. Diary time in class groups with class teachers is 7.15-8.15. We meet up in the common room at 8.30 for evening activities. On Tuesday night there was a Benmore quiz in dorm teams with quiz answers located around the building, followed by a music quiz. The staff team had Mr Noble as our secret weapon! On Wed night after diaries and tuck shop we had a night orienteer with torches under a beautifully clear starlit sky. Lights out and all were asleep by 9.30 pm, so we'll definitely be well rested for our final full day of activities tomorrow and have loads of energy to get on our dancing shoes at the disco. What a fantastic year group - a genuine pleasure to spend time with.
